SIRPC Digital Ambassadors
What is a SIRPC Digital Ambassador? Digital Ambassadors are community leaders who have graciously stepped up to act as the Planning Commission’s “eyes on the ground” for matters of digital inclusion and broadband connectivity in the nine counties we represent. As we cover a rather sizeable region, our Ambassadors utilize their intimate knowledge of how their communities tick to help us identify the most pressing broadband/ digital inclusion needs. These liaisons help us accomplish the goals outlined in the Regional Digital Inclusion Plan. It’s not always the case, but they also tend to serve as the de facto figurehead for the broadband taskforce serving their county: meaning they are the central point of contact for the taskforces and their members. Digital Ambassadors are not necessarily experts of the field, but can help us get in contact with the right people to accomplish a goal. SIRPC is grateful to have these wonderful people in our arsenal for combating the digital divide!
