Ohio County
Ohio County is the smallest county in Indiana, but certainly not insignificant. Its picturesque beauty of an early morning sun peaking over rolling hills along the river is said to be the inspiration and namesake of the only incorporated community within its borders, Rising Sun. The beauty of the area made Ohio County, historically, a popular stop for flatboats in the 1830s as they headed downriver. Today it still remains a popular tourist destination across the region due to its revitalized Main Street and scenic riverfront.
